Amnesia February 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Every five or six years I suffer from amnesia and buy a set of thease "filter wrench's". They seem like a good idea but the fact is they do not work. Save your money. The palm of your hand works as good or better. If you use two fingers you just make an ovel and the filter never comes off. I've been a photographer and a teacher for over 40 years, so you would think I would have learned this by now, Amnesia.
too much shipping cost, for tiny product February 15, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
canceled the order, because they wanted seven bucks to ship less than an ounce of a three dollar product. Found elsewhere, a lot less expensive.
A must have for the filter using photographer February 10, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
No more damaged filters that were overtightened and loosened with some other tool (channel lock pliers, perhaps?). With these light weight and very functional filter wrenches you can get your overtightened filters off with ease and without damaging your filter, or worse yet, your valuable lenses. A must have for any photographer who uses filters to enhance thier photographic experience.
Great for circular polarizers and other filters August 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you have filters on your camera, whether it's a UV filter that is on the lens 99% of the time, or you change filters often, then I highly recommend getting these lens wrenches. This product is particular useful in loosening my B+W Circular Polarizer because the wrench can lock onto the screw-in portion of the filter, instead of the rotating outside layer. The one time that I couldn't get my UV filter off and I didn't have the wrenches around, I really regretted it. Now I carry them with me in my camera bag all the time, since they don't take up much space. I bought these and the larger size ones, and since there are two wrenches in each pack, I gave one set to a friend.
Beware though, if you tighten your filters onto your lenses with as much force as you're tightening the pipes in your bathroom, then you're going to have trouble getting the filter loose with any product.
I agree that the shipping cost from the vendor is pretty high for this product. I have the luxury of living in NYC, so I just walked over and got these in person. If you know someone in NYC, get them to pick these up for you. Or you can save up a bunch of items and order them all at once to save on shipping.
Camera Must-Have!! June 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these Filter Wrenches for my Canon Powershot S3 IS. I screwed a filter on a little too tight, and as I was struggling to twist and turn and pull it off, I stopped and thought... "Ya know, maybe this isn't such a good idea. I might break the filter I JUST bought less than 24 hours ago..." Luckily, I found these wrenches and it took the filter off easily, potentially saving me a lot of money for a replacement filter... as well as saving me a lot of emotional grief if I had broken my new filter within a day. Oi!
Not to mention the fact that I bought them from Adorama - what a cheap price for a product that is SO good to have! Every photographer needs these.
