Amazon.com Product Description Quality optics have never been so small. Built with BaK-4 prism glass, the multi-coated 7x power Echo pocket scope has a near focus of only 13 inches, yet still delivers a terrific view from a distance (including a 181-foot field of view at 1,000 yards). More significantly, the Echo measures a mere 1.3 by 3.3 inches--not much bigger than a cigarette lighter--helping it fit handily in a shirt pocket or hiking pack. Whether you want to spy on your pals down the street or spot a mockingbird from a distance, the Echo delivers. Additional features include an 18mm objective lens, a 2.6mm exit pupil, and a 12mm eye relief. The Echo, which weighs only 1.8 ounces, comes with both a neck lanyard and a carrying case and is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box? Echo pocket scope, lanyard, carrying case, user's manual

A Good, Small, Monocular in the Inexpensive Price Range January 16, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Certainly satisfactory optics for viewing. Not real bright view, the edges of the field of view are a bit soft, but for the price this is markedly better than the cheapy binoculars often sold for ten or twenty bucks. This monocular is very small and light-weight. Handy carry case that fits on your belt. A nice little piece of field equipment to carry in the outdoors, to concerts, and for travel. Comes with a lint/cleaning cloth and a handy wrist strap. 3 stars primarily to be honest, objective and let you know this doesn't compare to something with much more expensive optics. It's really a 5 star rating when compared to anything in its price class.
Satisfactory monocular March 23, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This product met my expectations for a monocular priced under $30, except the close focus wasn't quite as close as advertised. Instead of 13 inches, it is more like 15-16 inches, but it focuses very smoothly and is free of major defects or optical aberrations.
For Looking Into My Aquarium January 10, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this Brunton Pocket Scope for the purpose of looking into my micro reef aquarium to see with more detail the tiny creatures inside. It works reasonably well for this purpose, and certainly better than probably all other pocket scopes on the market since it has a near focus of 13 inches. Of course, to maintain focus at such close range, you need to be quite still. There is an aquarium specific product that I suspect works much better, but it costs around $400 (if I remember correctly). Considering it costs less than $25 here at Amazon, the Brunton earns 3.5 to 4 stars.
Too fragile January 11, 2008 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
The day I received this item I tested by looking at the skyline outside my window and everything looked fine enough ... unitl I accidentally dropped it on the carpet. The short fall made the whole insides of the scope come apart and next time I looked through it there was just a blur.
great little pocket scope and exceptional price August 10, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
this little gem is incredible for what you get for such a low price. I replaced another rei generic scope with this one and am glad I made the switch. i will continue to buy brunton products as they are built very well and are simple in design and to operate.
