Product Description Clarifi is no ordinary polycarbonate case. That's because, when the details matter, Clarifi's built-in lens gives your iPhone a boost in camera resolution. Slide the Clarifi lens into place over the built-in lens of your iPhone. Your macro and close-up shots are instantly finer in detail, more accurate in color. With Clarifi's lens, your iPhone can image an entire business card with astounding clarity. Slide the lens aside for normal photography. WIthout Clarifi, iPhone requires about 18 inches to focus properly. Slide Clarifi's lens into place and you can move in to 4 inches for crisp detail and great pictures. And, of course, Clarifi is also a super-protective case, constructed of durable polycarbonate, with cutaways for access to power switch, headphone jack, volume controls, and dock connector. For use with Apple Universal Dock wells, Clarifi features Griffin's trademark EasyDock design: the bottom third of the case slides down and off to fit in standard dock wells. No adapters or small pieces to lose; the lens is built in.

Excellent fit, clever concept November 17, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I found this case to be the perfect form factor between the floppy silicone covers and the bulkier plastic cases. I was actually surprised that it added little to my phone's thickness and feel, as the plastic cases I've seen here in Japan tend to do. The phone slides in nice and snug, and though the bottom piece doesn't "click" in place, it feels very secure. The sliding lens is a great idea, and does provide a significant improvement in close-up shots, which I use a lot to record receipts or other printed notes using evernote. The only cons are that the lens itself slides freely without a good lock at either end (not a problem when taking pics because you will quickly see if it's blocking the view), and the mid-piece is a similar gloss to the phone itself, showing scratches quite easily. These are minor issues, though, and I would highly recommend this case.
nice right case, with a great trick feature November 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was always frustrated that the iPhone camera couldn't take clear close-up pictures for things like text & barcodes. The Clarifi fixed that. It's a neat trick, and I use it regularly. Now, admittedly, the Snappr pricing service is picky about receiving barcodes -- they need to be taken in good light -- but Evernote, the online notekeeper, does real well with business cards and such taken with the iPhone + Clarifi. And Griffin makes well-designed products with good material. I like it!
Lens works as promised December 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this case because of the innovative little lens on the back that makes it possible to take nice, clear pictures of items up-close. Say, for example, a receipt, a business card or a hand written note. It works extremely well.
The case itself is well constructed, though a little thicker and heavier than my previous case, the Contour Flick. It comes with a free screen protector (something I didn't realize when I bought it), which is the source of my only complaint. After applying the screen protector to the phone, I tried slipping it into the case only to find that the tight-fitting case peeled the film right off and actually damaged the screen protector, so I had to throw it away. Kinda silly.
LOVE IT! December 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i love this case!! not only is it stylish, protective, but also adds add'n function to the amazing iphone! the camera lens works wonderfully, makes a HUGE difference. the slight downside is that you get little fuzzies around the edges of the cover, which can be wiped off. i didn't see any scratches from the case on the inside either. oh, and the clear screen is NOT anti-glare, but still does a good job and is easy to apply by yourself. very stylish, sleek (enough for me), and best of all, useful!!! buy it!
Great close-ups, bulky case October 24, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I dropped my iPhone four feet to the basement floor the other day. It bounced nicely, but I decided it was time to spring for the Clarifi.
The good news it that I can now take great close-up pictures of text. Business cards, journal article titles, newspaper headlines -- no problem. I'll be doing this a lot, in combination with Evernote's storage.
The bad news is that it really bulks up my iPhone. It feels much heavier and thicker. I'm sure there's a lot of perception in this, but I wonder if I'll end up deciding it's too much bulk for every day use.
The case is black, so my white iPhone is now hard to find in the dark. Kind of defeats the purpose. I put a white Apple sticker on one side, and I'll look for something neon green to add. I hate loosing expensive hardware.
The magnifying lens has an obvious design flaw. There's a mild locking indent in the closed position, but not lock indent in the open position. Sigh. Let's hope this gets fixed in a future version.
I suggest try before you buy. You could try any hard shell case to test the bulk effect, they're all pretty similar.
