Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Kingston's CompactFlash Elite Pro is a redesigned memory card that offers a minimum sustained write speed of 133x. The Elite Pro is designed specifically to help advanced amateur or professional photographers get the best performance from their high-end imaging devices and applications. No matter how fast you work, CF Elite Pro can keep pace. With its ultra-fast transfer rates of 25MB per seconds read and 20MB per seconds write, you can capture more continuous, high-resolution images in less time with the Elite Pro than with traditional CompactFlash memory cards. When it's time to transfer your largest files, watch them fly! Your production workflow will be more efficient than ever.

5 out of 5 stars Fast and reasonably priced   January 18, 2008

I bought this card when I bought my Canon XTi and have not been disappointed. I can easily capture shots in continuous shooting mode with no delay and with 4GBs it can hold more pictures than I'm likely to take before dumping the card onto my computer.

It's fast and was reasonably priced when I purchased it.

2 out of 5 stars Works, but very slow   June 14, 2008

Got this card to use as some temporary storage in a computer. While the read speed on the card is perfectly reasonable (25-35MB/sec), the write speed is pitiful (1.5MB/sec, *at best*.) That makes it more or less unusable for read-write storage.

3 out of 5 stars Not working with Nikon Coolpix 5000   February 8, 2008
3 out of 12 found this review helpful

I have an old Nikon Coolpix 5000 that has been idle for some time - it has been using a 1GB IBM Microdrive (which is a Type-II CF). I recently bought the Kingston 4GB Elite Pro 133x CF card and wanted to give it a try on this old camera. The first step on Coolpix 5000 prompted me to format the card, which seemed successful. But then it shows "out of memory" and doesn't take photos even if I press the shutter button.

From an external card reader, it seems the card is formatted correctly with folder name "100Nikon".

I'm guessing it's more likely a problem on Coolpix 5000 that it doesn't work with this card. However, I read from somewhere else that Coolpix 5000 does work with maximum of 4GB memory, so why does this happen?

Any idea?

4 out of 5 stars Good, inexpensive, but might be slow   February 29, 2008

Product was relatively inexpensive, which was nice. I used it as a storage card for digital music for a car stereo. When copying data to the card, it went pretty slow. So I downloaded a flash memory benchmark program and ran it. It did not come too close to the 133x the card was advertised. I used a SanDisk PCMCIA to CF adapter. As a comparison, I used a SanDisk CF to USB2 adapter and received about a 2x transfer speed increase, but that speed was still slow and nowhere near 133x. I do not know how fast a typical USB2 jumpdrive is supposed to run, but I also benchmarked one of those I had and it went about 10x faster than this card. Hopefully there will be other reviews about this to either confirm or refute the lack of speed for this card.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome card!   March 5, 2008

What more can I say? Memory from one of the first and leading 3rd party memory manufacturers of the world. It's back by their true lifetime warranty - unlike some other companies who only talk the talk but don't walk the walk. But seeing that I've never received nor experienced a failed memory from them I shouldn't really vouch for that claim. Anyway, with the special rebates they were offering it really was a no brainer for my purchase.
