Product Description TEB-4404 B&W CCD camera features new EXview HAD CCD technology to minimize "smear" when lighting conditions are extreme or extraordinary
Amazon.com Product Review The Elmo TEB4404 B/W CCD Video Camera is a simple, reliable, and highly economical solution for most any remote monitoring needs. Designed to provide a higher-than-average resolution in a compact frame, the Elmo TEB4404 works very well in low-light conditions, making it perfect for security surveillance or any other situation requiring 24-hour monitoring of an area such as a room, hallway, or production or retail space. This camera utilizes a 0.33-inch black-and-white interline-transfer EXview HAD CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor, with 768-by-494 effective pixels. The TEB4404 has an inordinately high resolution of 570 horizontal TVL (TV lines), is highly sensitive to light with a minimum illumination of 0.05 Lux, and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 50 dB or better. The Elmo TEB4404 operates on the EIA (Electronics Industries Association) TV system, and includes a standard CS lens mount and a BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman, RF-type) composite video output connection. This unit is can operate on either 24-volts AC or 12-volts DC power, and comes complete with features such as AGC (automatic gain control), a backlight compensation, and built-in isolation. Technical Features: - S/N ratio: better than 50 dB
- Sensitivity: 0.05 Lux in B/W
- Effective pixels: 768 by 494 pixels
- Horizontal resolution: 570 TVL
- Dimensions: approximately 6 x 9 x 6 centimeters (W x D x H)
The Elmo TEB4404 camera is a reliable and high-quality addition to any budget-conscious surveillance system. Designed primarily for indoor use, this unit includes a line-lock/internal sync system. User's should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources. About Surveillance Camera Technical Features Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
